Today, the bathroom! Tomorrow, the world! Maybe I'm a little overdramatic? Tomorrow I'll settle for something a little lower key than the world. Maybe just the state...
At any rate, tonight I tackled the bathroom for a half-hour. It's harder to tell in the bathroom because there are more fine details, and I'm not working with a high quality camera and lighting here. We're looking at a cell phone camera and a bathroom with only a three-bulb vanity light.
So, let's look into the Before picture of the bathroom, through the door:
Did I mention my bathroom is small? My entire house is fairly small, and yet I still might not get to everything before my month is up. I am messy. Wait, that's a pretty huge furball on the floor. Let's get in for a closer look:
Oh, it's just my little princess (not her real name). She's my only female cat (and the youngest), and the smallest of my four cats (but the longest hair. I've measured hairs up to 5.5" inches coming off of her). You will never meet her in real life, because she's scared of strangers.
Anyway, the fur ball was removed, along with a lot of other cat hair that's not showing up in the pictures:
Huh. I could've straightened the bathmat, eh? Oh well. It's cleaner, with a lot less junk on the floor. It's still not perfect (note the cup on the floor over there).
So let's look at the toilet area--I should note INSIDE the toilet is clean. I'm actually pretty good about keeping that relatively clean.
Just messy. The toilet paper rack isn't holding any toilet paper, and the bottles are all over. We can do better than this. (Plus the unseen lint on the tank. I hate lint in the bathroom. I just can't get it to stay clean!)
So here's afterwards:
Better. I wish I had a better linen closet to store the cleaning supplies, but for now, the cleaning supplies just sit there, beside the toilet. It's not the end of the world. And if it is, well, it's been nice knowing you.
In the toilet before picture, you could catch a glimpse of the sink. Here's a better picture:
And to think you can even see how mess the mirror is! But there's a lot of things there--sunscreen, lotion, soap, q-tips, a container of coconut oil (my body lotion of choice at the moment). Plus, a lot of hair on the sink--both mine and my cats'.
The hair is mostly gone. I still need to do more scrubbing of the sink. I live in an area with very hard water, so there's always calcium deposits on anything that water touches. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm in the bathroom. I didn't really touch the tub (other than to clean up some hair), so I'll have to get back in there and scrub that someday, so I might include the sink in there.
So, there's my tiny bathroom in my tiny house. (Well, it's not officially a tiny house. There are people who live in 100 square foot houses! My house is significantly bigger than that!)
